My idea for a Change Camp event would be a mixture between a benefit concert and a conference. I think that music really brings people together. Maybe if everyone coming to the conference was asked to team up with someone and bring in their favourite local band everyone would have at least one artist on the roster they enjoy.Also, I think music is a very good reflection of people and everyone can say why they love a certain band and the bands can convey the messages they wish to convey. It also gives a chance for local bands to get together and feel a sense of community.
I think this idea would be a fun way for people to get together and it would also increase the likeliness of young people wanting to come out and make a change. I think that young people and older people, alike, really relate to music and can find common bonds an common grounds over different sounds and lyrics and song meanings.
